Today we are going to Simulate polished wooden effect in text using some blending effects and filters, useful for your print catalogues and visiting cards. handy tips and can easily modify according to your requirements.
Step 1.
1st off all Download this Wooden Background for your text, resolution 2048 x 1536 px, you can resize it according to your need, then open in Photoshop.

Step 2.
Now Add Your Text using Color# E68703

Step 3.
Open Blending Options of your Text layer and apply given effects to give your text some bevelled look.




you will have something like that

Lets Zoom it to show you actual effects, now looking cool

Step 4.
Copy/Paste layer style to other text layer

Step 5.
Now we are going to make wooden texture, Create a new layer and Load Your Text layer’s Selection and fill your new layer with color #E69703 as shown,

Step 6.
Apply the same on other Text layer

Step 7.
Now Set your Foreground Color to #E69703 and Background Color to # 4e3f37 as shown

Step 8.
Now make sure you selected your upper text layer that you just filled with Dark yellow color then go to Filter> Render > Fibers and apply the given values.

Now you will have something like that on your text, but dont get confused, in next coming steps the result will be outclass.

Step 9.
Select other Dark yellow layer and press Ctrl+F to repeat last used filter on that layer.

Step 10.
Now again select your this layer on which you applied fibres, Now goto Filter> Sketch> Chalk & Charcoal and apply the given values

Apply on Both layers and you will have something like that

Step 11.
Again Goto Filter> Sketch and select Chrome this time, and apply these values on both layers.

Thats your Look before the final Step. so wait a little bit for our Magic Step

Step 12.
Now Simply Go to Layers Palette and change these layer’s blend mode to Soft Light as shown.

We are done, thats our final look
