Today we are going to create a very cool looking basketball texture, the outer rubber surface of the basket ball, no need of any filters, just some blending options effects on a single layer and then spread that layer all over the document.
Step 1.
Open a new document of your desired resolution then create a new layer and fill it with #D06F2A

Step 2.
Then create a new layer and make a small circle, fill it with any color, this single dot will spread all over the document to give us a basketball texture look.

Step 3.
Now open blending options and apply some given effects

Now we have a single orange dot ready to bounce all over the document

Step 4.
Now here comes the lengthy and boring part, but in the end you will find a nice looking texture, just do your best to spread this dot all over the document by duplicating this layer.

Step 5.
Select layers then merge them, then spread then select and merge, keep doing until you fill all areas of the document

This is our final image after adjusting dotted layers and filling every single area.

Used this texture on a basketball,

i hope you liked learning this awesome looking basketball texture.

That is absolutely fantastic!
Find a way to automate the dot pattern, AND make it seamless, and you have a real winner my friend.

Thank you for your concern John, but the thing was we wanted the dot to spread randomly all over to get a perfect shape & this could only be possible by spreading it manually,if we use pattern we’ll get a dot on same lines and spaces, check out this image to see the difference between using pattern and manually done.
I know what you mean. I was talking about finding a pattern generator that could generate the dots randomly, but still have them tile.
It’s possible, you would just have to find the right pattern.
By the way, watch our website coming up…your tutorial is in our weekly round up.
